I used the ORD brackets and 2.5” lift leaf springs and ended up with about 7-8” lift over the 2wd ride height. And this is how close the factory engine crossmember was to the axle. So I ended up cutting it back up and boxing it in

Guess I should've asked though, were you wanting coils or leafs?

Yes that was I ....
But I can answer questions both ways
Leafs or coils
I did both on my truck was unhappy DDing leafs so I went coils...
Even today I’m pondering some adapting spacer mount to go inside the coil bucket with a coilover attached

I’ll post a crappy hand swan pic of what I mean sometime

Old thread revival? Haha. So other than the cross member, did any frame modifications have to be made? I’m debating going to find a 2wd frame and I have this vision of a newer ford 1-ton axel under it. Only welding needed being radius arm mounts as the fords come coil sprung. I have a 4wd frame now just fairly rusty

I’m in the middle of my 2wd SAS. Engine crossmember needs to be cut and trimmed. Best to cut off control arm mounts flush to frame to make clearance for headers. I’m using the ORD bolt on kit. With 79 Chevy Dana 44. Th400 trans and the np208 transfer case. I designed my new crossmember and just waiting on the shop to finish cutting and bending it.
