Replace front seats with rear?

I've seen lots of great rear bench seats available and in great shape. Has anybody tried using a rear in front? I swear I've googled and searched!

I looked into that some time ago. I asked the guy next door to our shop about it. He has an auto upholstery shop. He said it wont work. The seats are not the same at all, as much as they look a like. I got very lucky and found a set of bucket seats from a 95 Tahoe, that were a direct fit. I had a 60-40 bench seat before. The console I took out of a 2004 Tahoe at the bone yard. The front section I built including the shifter. The only shifter part I bought was the handle it self. I made every thing else myself.

Are you talking extended or crew cab? I'd be shocked if a crew cab wouldnt' work up front after changing mounts. I had 2 crews, and could have sworn one was a front bench. Exteded cab rear bench is too short.

I was talking Burb, or Tahoe. The crews are a rear animal where I live. A crew cab never crossed my mind.

Tahoe is different. Burbs should be the same, but never had one so dunno...

Suburban middle row seats are unique to Suburbans, no way they'll fit in any other position.

Crew cab rear seats are absolutely swappable to the front.
