Guys, where is the rke receiver located in a 97 Silverado?
Here’s a pic from the service manual for my 2000. It’s attached to the right side steering column support.
Thank you!! That's good news; my truck already has rke, I just need to get some fobs for it.
I wonder if fobs from a 99 Suburban will work...
Possible, yes.... Likely? Questionable. Your best bet would be to pull out the module and get the FCC ID numbers off of it, then get fobs with the matching FCC ID. Mine was FCC ID AB01502R, yours would probably be something similar. Transmitter fob ID was AB01502T.
Do you have the old fobs ? FCC # is on back of them.. If you don't get the right frequency they will not work. So if you are not sure you have the right fobs it would be best to get number off module. I have used this guy on ebay for several different vehicles and he has always been A+ He will send you instructions for programming etc.
You just have to be sure of your # before ordering.
