Rear end interchange?

Yeah, around here those axles are becoming pretty rare. Occasionally, I see them on marketplace.

Even more rare are the ones that came optioned as the RPO F44 in the 1500s. I've seen one driving around. Perhaps a regional thing?

What is the difference between the 2x4 and 4x4 14 bolt? Is it axle width?
