I have a 1999 K2500 Crew cab short bed. The rubber on my center support bearing is toast, so I need to replace it. How the heck do I get these two pieces apart so I can press the bearing off?? The rubber/metal cap just spins but it seems to be stopping the splines from pulling out when I try to pull them apart. How do I get that grease cap off to pull them apart?

Hit it with a punch in the direction of the center bearing. Once it's off it should be easy to slide out and separate the 2 half's.

Make sure you mark them before taking them apart though. They are balanced as a set. Looks like you already did that.
