One of my trucks is a 1994 c2500 light duty 6 lug 3.73 with a 6.5 diesel. Well it’s time for a new rear end. What are the best options? Would like disk brakes but everything else is up in the air
I expect you have a 9.5" semi-float with 13" X 2 1/2" drums. JD7 brakes.

If that's the case, you don't really need anything bigger; and "most" discs will be a SUBSTANTIAL downgrade. I'm not saying there aren't hefty disc systems...but the common conversions are pathetic junk.

When I was looking for a better 6-lug axle for my K1500, most of the 9.5" units had 3.73 gears. Should be a "fairly" easy-to-locate unit in the Treasure Yard.

Or, as suggested...rebuild the one you have. You haven't said what's wrong with it.
