Hey guys I want to upgrade from my 28 inch rad to a 34 inch rad. A friend of mine wants to give me one out of a 86 k20.
so my question is do the rads in the older trucks fit the gmt400?

Thanks!

Never done the swap before, but if you get the shroud with it it should go. If you have the will, anything can go into anything. Probably have to get hoses as the old ones won't work. Does it have tranny cooler lines in approximately the same place? Or at all? If he's giving it to you it's worth a shot, doesn't work, youre only out your time and the beer it took to try.

Well that the idea I have right now. Gonna try if it fits great. Made a rad cheap. If it don't fit I just put the old one back in.
but I thought somebody here would had have done it before.

Well after some test fitting. I realized that the fittings for the Trans cooler lines are on the wrong side.
so I guess I need a 88-94 rad. I could have gotten one out of a 97- 98 but there's no filler neck on them.
they fill from the overflow jug.

Hey guys I was wondering if there was any problems with using the engine oil cooler for the transmission?
It looks like all I need to do is reduce from 1/2 incheck fittings to 3/8 fittings ?

Thanks.

97,98,99 L31 should have a filler neck. Also there shouldn't be a problem with the cooler.
