So it is what I originally read that the ears are just locators? So that means I'm completely fine with the ears cut off and there's basically zero difference in performance with or without it?
Correct. Torque to spec and you’re good to go. The GM PN for your mount should be 22188497.

Phew, thanks for the help, talk about a hellish job, I definitely didn't want to do both over again. Less vibration and the motor sits MUCH higher so I figured it would probably be okay.

I’m just seeing this thread but am fixing to change motor mounts. Can you provide the link? 1994 k1500 5.7

Check these out. These look to have heavy gauge metal. Good price too.

That sucks, Anchor/Doan used to be a good quality motor and transmission mount company.
