Thats where my 6.5's is mounted along with what seems like a half dozen other things. First time i had the grill out I said to myself no wonder why the 6.5 sometimes have overheating problems.

Interesting that a 2wd would have the PS cooler but 4wd's don't have them much. I have 96 and 97 ECSB's Z71's, both have the tow package (which consists of the electrical connector in the rear and a receiver), they don't have a PS cooler. As I mentioned before I don't see them on GMT400's around here.
I still think it may be a hot climate thing? I think GM put in the hot fuel module for the same reason.
I'm in Nebraska but it doesnt get as hot as where your at and I know my 95 with the 6.5 is a NE truck not sure about the other 95. We do see 100+ days but they don't hang around much. Ill go out and see if my other one has a cooler or not.

I wonder what the RPO code for the PS cooler is.
Just looking by googleing rpo codes it looks like the code is V12 but neither of my trucks have that code but they both have the tube and fin style cooler.

This just came to thought. Maybe its a 8600 gvw thing that gives them a cooler and being 4wd. Both of them are 8 lug 2500's.

Now that you mention it, I do seem to recall PS coolers in a few HD 2500's and 3500's.
