The brown truck is sweet! Always wanted an adventure rig, had a crawler that was fun but had to trailer it everywhere. I’m a little north west of ftw.

Thanks boss I dig it in every way. Plan to beat on it till it gives up. Probably do an atlas case this summer but other than that not much else.

Well I’m super pumped. The turbo came in a month early. The earliest ship date I could find was through summit and that was projected mid March. Helps out a ton because I have everything needed to get the 6.0 back together. Kept the stock bottom end but one lower ring was toast on #3 hole. Got the rings all gapped at 30 and 32 and should be able to slap everything back together.
The intake valves on the 821 heads are flat out laughable. I almost feel I’m doing an injustice by putting a 220/225 cam in it. There are some like builds out there through full 4” exhaust doing 7-800 tire. We will see where it goes.
Got the 7875 billet 1.25 housing. This should light off well and coupled with the terminator x should be able to have a wide tuning map. I plan on starting at 4lb then use a 4 port MAC valve eventually up to 16lb. That seems to be the upper limit for the cam before diminishing results. But should be super streetable but go to 11 when needed. Way Mo to come. Probably be a year before I can get everything done and streetable but hopefully sooner.

Got most of the long block finished up. Down to covers and oil pan. Would have finished them but waiting on the -10 drain fitting for the turbo and can’t find my shims for the oil pump.

Don't forget to shim the oil pump. I only recently learned that was a thing. Thankfully I haven't yet done an LS oil pump.
Thanks for the heads up. That why I hadn’t installed it yet. I had some .010 shims but not enough.
This is by far the best method in my opinion for shimming the pump.

Are you going to try and tune the motor yourself or go to a shop? Pretty stoked for you lol
Appreciate it. Ya I’m pretty pumped myself. I will tune it to the best of my abilities then pay good money to have it locked in. The terminator makes it somewhat user friendly. Matt Hapel @ Sloppy Mechanics has put out tons of content. I’m running his cam “The Best Cam” a terminator X and will use a Th400 with a gear vendors overdrive. It’s gonna take me a year probably to get everything going hopefully sooner but we shall see.
Huntertuned also has a ton of content. I recently reached out to him and he answered right away. Awesome busy dude considering he works does content and takes time to answer questions on his products. I will use his fuel injectors he recommended 1500cc for my combo and goals. I will use a Magnafuel 4303 pump and regulator with dual -8s to single -12 pre pump then -10 Y’d to -8s at each fuel rail with a -10 return.
I have a 7875 next gen billet VSR turbo and a VSR 60mm waste gate. This may be too much gate but I want to run a 4lb spring and use a 4 port MAC valve to keep dome pressure somewhere ending around 20-24psi. I don’t know what will work best as far as boost if by MPH or by gear will be better. Suspension will be DJM or good tubular a arms up front 6lug with coil overs from 1a auto, rear will be leaf’s with a 6lug swapped full float 14bolt with a wishbone or anti wrap bar 3.73gear Detroit locker 29-30” tire.

After engine is done still waiting on a turbo drain for the pan, I will start wiring panels. From the firewall forward there is no wiring at all. No computer nothing but all the components are there. I will have a heater available gonna use a UTV small style and kinda gut everything else. No A/C probably. My brown truck has it so I’ll be good if I need something.
Gots tons to do but I’ll get there.

Picked up a TH475. Have my eye on a Gear Vendors unit but little on the high end for used. If it comes between overpaying for used and getting kicked you know where I’ll probably bite the bullet and pay the money for a new one. It’s an 84 model from the tag. Next will be building a run stand and start fabbing all of the hot side and hopefully fire it up in the next month. The Hipster VBs from ATD are back order for quite some time. JaKe’s performance is as well. If anyone knows or wants to share their favorite manual VB company I’ll take some recommendations.
