My new to me ‘95 Sierra had its share of issues. Body-wise, the most glaring was a nice dent behind the driver’s rear wheel which had the underside folded in by a guy backing into it many years ago. There was also a decent dent up high on the passenger side of the bed and the front of the hood had some significant wrinkles.

$200.00 and about two hours this afternoon a PDR guy managed to make all three areas look great. I still have to apply a bit of touch up paint to the passenger bed gouge but the metal is straight.

I’ve only used a PDR guy once before but I’m certainly a believer. I was fortunate enough to find a good one for this job.

Nice! did you watch how he did it? Is it as simple as a heat gun and an upside down can of air?
No heat nor air. Just dollies and hammers. He did use a hydraulic ram to push out the major part of the L-R before he started finessing it.

I wish I’d have had the presence of mind to have taken before pix. I have some overall side pix wherein you can see the dents, but not really tell just how big they were.

In this one you can see “the biggie” on the L-R but really can’t see just how deep it was. The hood picture showed only nasty molded paint. I didn’t even see how dented up it was until I started buffing it out.

Occasionally an insurance company will write one for pdr repair so they're in the bodyshop sometimes. Like anything some guys are better than others and I have seen a few do some pretty amazing things.

I need a PDR slave to pop out all the hail dents on my 1500. We had a shop dually that a girl drove into a pylon at the gas station as she was used to her tiny **** box that she drove to work. That fender was straight caved in and we got it back after a couple days looking like new without so much a mark on the back side. I couldn't believe there was zero evidence back there that anything has happened. It's an amazing technique in the right hands.
