white looks good, imo.
i'm really surprised he didn't go for the 5k offer.
that seems very reasonable.
this happened to me also, wrong color, we were able to work out the deal.
the color grew on me .... always got lots of positive comments, since others didn't know full story.
as stated, at this point if he repaints, job quality will be suspect, legal action never really works out imo ....
good luck.

Not sure what you are saying.
If you compromise and live with a two tone he would not have to repaint the uppers and jambs. If he has to redo it all he is likely to shortcut and do bad work. You also have to be concerned about film build, each co. has their max allowable. You are likely going to get a scuff and reshoot ending with the film build of two paint jobs plus undercoats.

Hope you kept a copy of the original invoice wherein it explicitly stated the paint color you requested.
^^^This! Always get it in writing and take a picture (at least) of the color chip you picked. Also specifications of body work, sealant, primer, base coat, clear coat, etc. Including # of coats, brand, and part #s. Same with any work/contract you enter.

It sounds like he does stuff on the fly from memory and doesn't have a system to keep himself from making mistakes. He won't get any better if he doesn't realize he needs to organize his processes. He should tape a build sheet to the window or something...

Here's an update it's all painted, just waiting on the glass install and roof rack next week. It looks good not sure if I want to put the new trim I bought on it or not. The painter is recommending I wait a while to put trim on to let paint set up.
