I'm trying to retrofit some things and see multiple part numbers for what is otherwise the same part. The difference between them is what I'm calling the option code. That's probably the wrong name, so maybe someone can educate me? It's not an RPO code. Anyway, I see CK309, CK310, and CK314. Can anyone tell me what these mean so I can figure out what I need? Looking at parts for a 1998 one ton K3500. Thanks in advance.

Those are the model numbers that GM used.

CK - two or four wheel drive
105- two door Tahoe chassis
107 - short wheelbase
109 - long wheelbase
310 and 314 are 1-ton chassis cabs, not sure of the difference between those numbers.

The first digit above changes to 2 for 3/4 ton and 3 for one ton (107, 207, 307, etc.)

The number in parentheses is the cab style:

(03) two door cab
(06) Suburban or four door utility
(16) two door utility
(43) four door cab
(53) two door extended cab

For example, a K309(43) would be a 4WD one ton long wheelbase four door cab.
