Is this the correct oil pan gasket for a 97 5.7 vortec??
I decided to keep running my 220k shortblock , any good timing set recommendations? I was looking at the cloyes 9-1157 ? I will be using a new stock plastic vortec timing cover. Thanks.

That is the correct oil pan gasket for the vortecs.
For timing components you need cloyes c3092. Or melling 3202sa.
If you're stock you don't really need all the adjustable crank sprocket crap. The stock set is good for most applications.

Thanks man ! Yeah im keeping it stock.
Should I replace the oil pump at 220k or just leave it alone? Oil pressure was normal, 20 psi at hot idle, 40 psi driving.

The aluminum Holley covers are available in black too.

The unfinished aluminum one is part number 21-152, the black one is part number 21-153.

Use a single roller chain, far more durable than the stock link style.

Like the cloyes 3092 mentioned above? I see the holley timing cover is the way to go. Are those aluminum heads?
The 3092 is the non-adjustable version and I believe the GMPP roller set is the same exact Cloyes chain set. At the time I picked up the chain in my 383, it was cheaper to buy the whole GM setup. It came with the chain set, the cam bolts, two new cam retainer plates and the bolts for the retainer plate.
