No no, good info. I knew about the 2 part deal. when I got it last year the factory deck was dead and it had the aftermarket one in on the center there. what drove me nuts that it had the dead deck so I took it out and tossed it and put in the nice little Shelf but the pioneer never has fit right. The deck pops out a bit. it's like there's too much wire behind it I've tried tweaking and adjusting and it always looks kind of crappy at some point in its life this truck had the entire dashboard took it apart because I found a ton of missing screws, nuts, and excetera in the last 6 months. It's amazing after you put some nuts and bolts in the rattles go away!

PO may have gotten cheap and just put the Pioneer in the dash using the stock center piece which causes the aftermarket radio to look pretty ugly. As others have mentioned the adapter for the center at least makes it look better. The radio still sticks out a little but it hides that pretty well. Here is how mine looks. Mine is a Kenwood but otherwise the same. I really like being able to answer a cell phone call safely with the speakerphone feature on the radio. I would not go back to an OEM radio for that reason.

Mine has the proper kit but the wires still are too bulky. I should take rainy day and pull it and re install it and shorten wires up.
Picked the rv up from buddy's shop. Fixed some stuff and winterized it.
