Howdy,

Got a 98 1500 I've put a LQ4/4l80 in and I'm having trouble finding a mounting solution for my radiator...

Factory V6 should won't work, V8 mounts won't work any suggestions? Short of reaching out to a fabricator would like to find a easy solution possibly using Factory mounting spots but I'm open to whatever. Thanks guys !

There are two mounting positions on the bottom. For two different tank widths. That's the way gm designed it. They all the same height unless you have a big block HD then the upper brackets are 1 1/2 inches taller "z " shape. What exactly problem are having? Is that a replacement radiator? You question is not specific, vague ?

Sorry it's an ebay radiator with electric fans..

Bottom lines up perfect top I'm having the problem with can't find anything to really work.

The goal is to obviously get it to sit upright and properly secure.

I've got upper BB mount and SB mounts none work and or line up.. ill post a Picture when I get back to the garage.

On the OE radiator the bushing mount pads line up with the tank seams. Are the upper pads not in line with the lower like the OE tanks?

Why not do a full length radiator hold down similar to the aftermarket ones for the fox body mustangs? You could easily make one yourself and use the pre existing threaded holes in the core support to hold it.

Use the SBC upper mounts, drill new holes where they line up and install rivet nuts into the core support. Clean and simple. A rivet nut kit is like $30-50 for a decent one that comes with numerous mandrels and thread sizes.

If you have the lower ones in factory locations , and the tanks are in line . Are this radiators tank mounts in the original place or did you install wider radiator? On the upper support is more than one position for the upper hold downs. You move them in or out the nuts plates are in place. Here's two different drawings, showing the two places the upper plate attaches. If look where the lines lead. Show us

how much there off from where they should be mounted.
