Great find!! I just ordered one. So hookup is hot, ground and?

antenna id think otherwise it would be a temp sensor related thing otherwise it may be for the "programming" just a few guesses

Looks like the 3 wire hookup is constant hot, ignition hot and ground.

I believe its wired this way
1. battery hot for the homelink memory
2. ignition hot to operate the homelink, compass and auto dim.
3. ground.

No temp on the mirror. That would require 2 additional wires and a probe.

Any gentex autodim should have 3 wire hook up, (been doing these since the 90s on bmw). Switched Power, ground, and reverse trigger ( so the mirror will not dim in reverse At night).

Never say always. There are always exceptions to the rule. The Kia auto dimming with compass but without the homelink is a 2 wire mirror. I have one of these brand new for one of my vehicles. The homelink adds the 3rd wire for the memory.

Most of the videos I watched went with ground and keyed ignition only. I ordered one too (still waiting on it) and was wondering the same thing. Looks like we need third wire for garage door opener memory.

I dont remember why but I ran two wires to the outside temp sensor at the front of the truck.

These do not have an outside temp sensor. They are compass only

That's fine. I cant get mine to switch from cel to far anyway.
