1996 Chevy Cheyenne longbed. Bed mounting holes line up and touch at front and back but in the middle there is a gap and the bed isn't touching the frame but not sure why? So only 4 bolts can go in correctly. I added some pictures below so you can see the gap. Also added a photo of front touching frame and holes lined up.

Has it ever been rear ended, hit in rear ? Is the bed not flat ?
Have wife, friend , significant other stand over bolt access. Use a drift to align and send it home.

Not that I know of, only thing thay was done was a C-Not and flip kit at a shop. Bed was bolted on like normal but when I got it back I noticed the front was bolted with 2 bolts. The rear had 2 bolts but the middle 0 bolts because its not touching the frame anywhere in the center where the other 4 bolts go.

Ok,, that should have been said at the beginning. The frame isn't flat . Modified , and not kept flat and plumb. Frame problem, the bed is innocent.
So how would the frame be perfectly aligned and touching in front and back but the center has a gap?. I figured if it was a frame problem it would be sagging in the middle but when you look at it everything looks straight. The only thing I do know is they tried to pick the bed up with a strap by putting it underneath the bed coming up from the fenders and it bent the fenders so the stopped.

What absolute morons. This just gets worse. Take string line , run it from front to back. See which is tweaked. The frame or screwed the bed from improper lift. How stupid are they , doing flip notches, yet don't know basic bed removal?

Oh if you only knew the rest lol. It was there for a paint job as well. They only did the cab but had to paint it twice because it was so bad. And I ended up saying do not touch the bed. So its half painted but slowly finding more of their mistakes. Not including breaking plastic panels when they removed door panels. On top of them not removing the glass before painting leaving white paint on all seals plus a lot more lol

I will give the string a try. If its the frame it has to be minor im assuming. I figured I would be able to tell if the frame was bent bent causing the gaps.

So it has a c-notch.
Take a look and a picture of that.
If it's anything like mine on my RCSB with a Belltech flip kit, the bed brace sits right on top of there. So the brace won't sit flush to the frame causing the gap.
The fix is to cut the bed brace above the c-notch and then the bed will be flush to the frame again.

My best guess without having witnessed the "work" being done is that they did not properly support the frame front/rear while cutting the notch. The frame is almost surely tweaked and no longer in proper dimensions. You will probably need to remove the bed and hope to resolve the frame tweak by supporting the frame front and rear of the notch, then loosening the bolts on the notch (assuming it's bolted in, not welded in) and check across it with a long straight edge and "adjust" until you get it flat again, then re-tighten.

If the notch brace is welded in.. well you've got a bigger job ahead of you. If they didn't sound like such moronic hack jobs, I'd say take it back to them and tell them make it right, but they do not sound capable of doing so - I'd never let them touch my truck again.

I notched my dually in my garage with super limited space, with the bed in place raised up rested on large rubber wheel chocks. I didn't have anywhere to put it out of the way. My bed still bolts up correctly, because I supported the frame correctly before I cut for the notch.

This can help the bed sit flat on the frame but I don't think it would account for the bolt holes not lining up. It's good advice in general though.

Yeah so on mine the bed supoort beams in the middle are not touching anything not even the c-notch. The boot holes line up the bed is just not touching the frame to put them in on the middle support beams. The front 2 bolts are good and the back 2 bolts.

No the bolt holes line up in front and back and middle. The bed just doesn't touch the frame in the middle where the 4 other bolts go. So I can only put 2 bolts in the back 2 bolts in the front
Yep, probably very slightly "V" shaped. Is it a bolt-in notch or weld-in? If it's bolt-in, then my recommendations from earlier should get you there..
