Need Help in tapping into correct wire

Hello, I install a a pillar gauge set and need to tape into light switch wire harness to illuminate gauges.
What color wire should I splice into?
1997 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 4wd (light switch has push button to shut off dome lights)

Gray wire behind the dash. Probably easiest to splice in at the headlight switch harness.

I believe brown is the illumination wire at the headlight switch. Back probe the headlight switch connector. Take a DMM and check for 0v with the switch off and 12v with the switch in the other two positions.
