Out with the old and in with the new. I wound up heat shrinking the wire connectors and wrapping everything with conduit and electrical tape.
I was trying to be somewhat professional.
At any rate, This was a pain in the rear! I might try taking the bed off in the future. Thanks for the advice.

In the future try not to use the plain ol vinyl electrical tape. it turns to a gooey mess around fuel oil and heat. they make a harness tape for that. just google fleece tape.
