The link works for me, :confused:. Oh well.

What apparently happened was the lifter collapsed and the cam beat it to death. It was about 5/32" shorter than my new ones and the one from #4. We put a dial indicator on the rocker and the cam lobe appears to be within a thou of the #4 so we installed a new lifter, adjusted the lash, and put it all back together. Warmed it up and changed the oil. There was some glitter in it but, everything runs and sounds good. Now, I'm over sensitive to any noises when starting up and after driving a while.

BTW, here's the lifter on the right, #4 on the left, and the new replacement in the center. You may be able to see the bad one is dished and beat up.
