About 3 years ago I was gonna have Sewlow make me a leather shift boot for my truck. I made up an aluminum bezel. It's been sitting on my dresser for the last 3 years. Think I'm gonna giterdun as soon as he replies. Also looking at a sparkly green shift ball with a peterbilt logo encased in it. My great uncle was an owner operator. His last ride I think was a Pete 379. I think that would be cool. Not sure if I wanna go with grey to match the dash with green stitching, or black with green stitching. The bezel I was considering having either black, dark gray, or getting powdercoat silver. We have a lovely matte dark gray for the cockpit panels in the paint shop at work. I could slide it in there when they are spraying cockpit gray, and have one of the painters blow some color on it.

Well the hall bathroom shower surround was really falling apart, so I will be getting sidelined from anything else I want to do. No chucking my weekends in the F@ck it bucket for awhile. Doing a fairly full renovation on it. Besides a new tile job, I am going to mod the plumbing like I did in the master bathroom. Add shutoff valves in the wall, move the shower valves, and shower head higher in the wall. Change out the drain piping to PVC with a pop up drain. Keeping the cast iron tub, and floor tile. The raised flower print paintable wallpaper the wifey wants painted a pale yellow. Gave the kid a hammer, and told him to go nuts on the one wall.

That's the way, get the kids involved and create great memories for them, also gives the them the "can do" attitude to go out and try new things. A bit of free labour never hurts the project budget either .

Filled the empty dumpster behind our house 3/4 of the way full. The city just emptied it thursday morning. Talk about perfect timing. Next trash pickup is not till monday. Neighbors are gonna be pissed lol. Heres pic of master bath. I redid that one 20 years ago. Kept just patching and putting off the hall bathroom over last 20 years. But since its finally time, I plan to move shower head and valves up higher in this new bathroom project to match the master bath while its apart. With all the other poop I been dealing with, this is going to be fairly slow going money wise. Gonna get the plumbing part done today, and possibly start on the sheetrock part. Exterior wall sheetrock, wall insulation, and tile probably wont happen until next weekend after I get payed again.

The latest on the junior criminal who sometimes sleeps under my roof. Grac was supposed to show up for court yesterday for her not guilty plea of minor in possession with intent to distribute to another minor. She would not get out of bed. Wife woke her up 2 hours prior to going. Kept checking on her, waking her up again and again. She was supposed to see her police appointed shrink later the same day. Ditto there. She did not go. Wifey contacted the shrink. He said thats pretty bad considering in 2 days shes going to turn 17. I said not showing up looks really bad especially if your pleading innocence. At that point the kid gloves are supposed to come off in regards to the police department. I will believe that if it happens. Wife got a text from the courts saying if Grac doesnt show up at municipal court then they will issue a warrant for her arrest. Again I will believe it when I see it.

And a side note. The cat we got her never bonded with her. Cat dearly loves my wife and I. On nights when Grac doesnt come home which is more often than not, the cat sleeps at the foot of our bed with us all night behind a closed and locked door. No problems. Grac comes home and locks the cat in her room all night. Poor kitty will sit at the door and meow all night to let her out. The cat poops on her clothes every time. She has never done that to my wife and I. I think out of spite she squeezes out a turd on purpose and poops on this kids stuff. It's pretty funny actually Lol.

Todays project along with finally doing my tax returns was the hot and cold water feed plumbing with isolation shut off valves in the wall. I will address the 2x4 needed at the top for the shower spout tomorrow, and change out the old screwed up drain. Note the impromptu plumb bob with washer on it to get it all straight.

Well working on the bathroom has gotten me out of the f@ck it mode. I may actually work on car junque when this is done. So I cleaned out all the female junque off the countertop, and everywhere else. Bought em plastic tubs for it all. Cleaned up the countertop, vanity, and elsewhere and told em the only things that will stay in this bathroom will be bath towels on the towel hooks I installed years ago, tooth brushes, and tooth paste. Anything else if left behind, I toss it, no warning, it just goes. If you dont value it then leave it behind, if you do value it, then dont leave it behind.

These disgusting little creatures left dried out used several months old maxipads under the sink in the cabinet. I opened the door, and it smelled like rotten crotch. I made them clean that out. Part of my renovation including painting the insides of the cabinets under the sink is to pin all 4 of the doors shut. I told em, what's wrong with putting that in a walmart sack , tying it off, and putting it in the kitchen trash. What's wrong with that? I will tell you what's wrong with that. Effing laziness pure and simple. Heaven forbid they do anything requiring any extra effort.

So with that out of the way, this house is a concrete slab foundation construction. As such it presents it's own challenges. The drain portion of the plumbing was old copper and brass construction. It was not going to come apart easily. So after I dug out dirt, rocks, concrete chunks, and cut a small piece of rebar out of the way, I ran my air hose in through the bathroom window, shoved a piece of thick steel sheetmetal between the water supply pipes, and the drain line. Then little by little I carefully cut away and removed it. It took me from 11:30am to 3:04pm to carefully remove it all along with the buckets of dirt. What went back in was all PVC pipe connected to the drain pipe stub, with a hose clamped rubber coupling. What's nuts is everything I have done to this home over the years, somebody else will benefit from. I will be dead and buried long before it will need anything else major.

Oh and Grac made it to 17 and still free so far. Wife doesnt have to get involved in her court crap anymore since the state says at 17 it's now Gracs responsibility to keep up with it. I guess we wait and see. So without further ado, heres some pix.

And the nasty vanity cleaned up. The plan is a color change on the walls, the cabinet and trim. Along with the new tiling job on the tub.
