Moonie speedo not working

I bought an 88 1/2 ton sb 2wd
The moonie speedo doesnt work I'm getting current from the vss
I cant find a speed buffer or drac anywhere on this truck
It's my understand the 88 is different from 89 and up.
Does anyone have any speedo knowledge on 88 moonie?

Your VSS signal converter is on the back of the cluster (on 88 - 91 models) it feeds the speedometer, cruise control, and ECM. These models don't have an external DRAC/VSSB. Here's an article on programming and location.

Thanks for the info but this isn't enough of my issue to figure out what's wrong. At least not with my size brain
I'm current a signal out of vss and those wires are still hot at the outside of firewall
That's were I'm stumped
Is there a way to test the gauge and or cluster since the 88 is an odd ball I'm not finding a lot of info
