Not sure if this has been mentioned on this forum but here's a good site for decoding RPO codes. Also a great resource for determining what codes a vehicle has if the documentation is missing, just plug in a VIN number and it'll tell you.

Will that tell me what alternator my 99 OBS with 350 is supposed to have, the bolt holding it on is definitely not factory, pretty sure it should have the big one, power everything, rear heat and air. Haven't had any issues so far but would like to know

Each year factory service has in the first chapter under vehicle description, the complete available RPO codes listed for that year. This is the 1993 FSM , one of my trucks.
