I have just recently put a 5.3 on my 1996 obs and now im having problems with my tranny..the tranny came with the 5.3 ls engine..symptoms are when I put it in drive it seems like the tranny is slipping...I checked the fluid its ok...I know the engine and tranny were running strong before it got yanked out

If it's a 4L60E, they can start slipping if you look at them the wrong way in my experience. Get ready to rebuild or replace it. Or do what would be the smart thing in my opinion and 4L80E swap the truck. Then you won't be rebuilding or replacing the 60E when it decides to die again in a year.

Besides the obvious 60e thing... double check your shift linkage is adjusted properly. Sometimes if it's off it won't engage all the way.

the tranny came with the 5.3 ls engine.

Is that year of transmission compatible with the wire harness and ECM of the '96?
