As I started to look for a new lower right and left control arm for my truck, I discovered a lot of misinformation on the Internet.

My question is about fitment. What years and models will fit on my truck.

For instance, while a 96 GMC 2500 lower control arm fit on my vehicle?

I’ve heard the suburban and the Tahoe lower control arms will fit on my truck but only if they are 1995 through 1996.

I also heard that a 2500 or 3500 or 1500 year model 1988 through 1998 will fit my truck.

Is there anybody out there with the experience to know exactly what year models I need to search for replacements?

I’ve also been seeing information on the OBS Facebook pages about an AWD Astro/Safari van lower control arm being available still and being a direct bolt on to 4wd 1/2 trucks.

This seems to be a great thing since ours are no longer made and our only option is to rebuild the LCA with balljoints and bushings.

I did the 2003-2006 spindle swap for the dual piston calipers. I used stock 2000 2500 lower control arms, with factor 96 upper control arms. Just had to reem out upper ball joint holes.

Ended up getting some from a junkyard. Sand blasted them clean, repainted, new ball joint and bushings; just like new.
