I have 97 GMC K3500 which has the newer forged lower control arm that allows a tighter turning radius.

Will the newer forged control arms fit on a older truck like say a 1993 K3500 and if so will they allow the 1993 to have a tighter turning radius like my 97?

The 1500 and 2500 4X4 cast and stamped arms are interchangeable and the 2500 lower arm uses a slightly beefier ball joint also but it will work in a 1500 spindle.

I would like to know more about these forged lower control arms and maybe if anybody has a pic, I am just about to do balljoint's on the dually, and this might be worth swapping in.

I just checked Rockauto and they don't list ball joints for a forged lower arm for 93. I never gave it much thought, but assumed the forged arms were avaible from the beginning. If not, when where they introduced?

I've got forged arms in my 99....... I think it turns like a ship. I can't imagine the stamped arms being worse.

They're not cast, they're forged. The heavy 3/4's can have them. 1-tons got them, but I've seen late 1-tons with stamped arms too.
