looking for tire size for the rear 15x10

A 275/60-15 should not be put on a 10" rim per every tire catalog I have seen. If the vendor says it's o.k. then fine.

1/4" per side isn't enough to make a difference. IMO I don't like the stretched/ballooned look. 275s look good on an 8".

I wouldn't put a 275/60 on a 10" wide rim.
The tire bead needs to sit on the wheel properly, and normally if the wheel is too wide for the tire, it does not.
Too wide of a wheel & cornering and handling will be affected..
The tire's sidewalls will be stretched outward on both sides. Evasive manoeuvers, hard cornering, could cause the bead of the tire to break from the rim.
This is why tire manufacturers state the wheel width recommendations with a maximum width.

454SSs came with 275/50-15's.
The factory SS wheels are 7" wide. (Inside flange to inside flange)
Yet...most manufacturers spec an 7.5"-9.5"wide rim for that tire. BFG, Firestone, Cooper, etc.
Only Nitto specs a 7" rim for their 275/60's.
I had a tire guy (a buddy) that wouldn't mount new 275/60's on my SS wheels 'cause 'the book' said No.
Showed him original 454SS ads. Googled the specs for him.
Nope. Wasn't happenin'.
I got 'em done & have since burned out 3 more sets. 4-4.5 years/set.
Never any probs with that width of tire on a 7" rim.

A 295/50 on a 10" is right.
But, they look sooo small on these trucks. Really tiny little.
The stock 235/75's are 28.8" tall. 700revs per mile.
275/60's = 28" & 722revs.
295/50's =26.6" & 758revs.
Cheaper than a gear swap! 235/75>295/50 would be close to going 3.42 to 3.73.
Computer will need to programmed for whatever size other than the factory.

I've seen plenty of people put 275/60r15s on a 15x10 rim and have been fine, and most conversion trucks came with 10 wides and 275s.
