I have a 98 K1500 (5.7, 4l60e, electronic shift transfer case) and i have a couple of problems and would appreciate any and all input on some fixes. Engine was rebuilt when i bought the truck. Previous owner threw a rod.
1. Engine doesn’t always rev when started as a fuel injected engine should. It will sometimes lope up to idle (almost like a carbureted engine). It’s not temperature sensitive as it does it in GA heat and when it’s chilly.
2. I have a CEL that throws a cam to crank correlation sensor.
3. MPG is godawful. 12 on a good week. Maybe 14 on the interstate. Previous owner cut off exhaust after the cats and it’s yet to be fixed.
