Back in the day, I saw a lot of pickups with the pipe/drill stem bumpers like @fancyTBI mentioned. Texas is farm and oilfield country....
I've seen the Ranch Hand offerings on trucks; they are nice and well made, but you will pay for it(unless you luck out and find one in the yards).

Not going to lie, this is the only bumper I've seen that understands function more than form.

I'll probably be replicating this instead of the (I'm sorry in advance, maybe) ugly options I have seen that seem about as thick as the stock bumper and just a skin with mounting brackets. I'm also absolutely not paying Baseline Overland prices for their Suburban offerings lol.
When building a bumper you will have set of requirements to make it functional, once that's sorted have fun with it, make it uniquely yours. I added the steps as I am 5'10" and can't reach anything in the engine bay without climbing up on the bumper so they were the most practical addition. With a bit of cutting and welding you can create a piece of art that will withstand an impact when required, but most importantly think outside the box.

There's a few things I'll be adjusting for my terrain requirements. :

I need the steps too, fwiw lol. I'm constantly sitting on the core support
