Hi there! I’ve been lurking off and on for the last several years. I’m glad to be able to contribute my small amount of knowledge and experience and hopefully help others out along the way.

Back in 2009, I was 14 years old at the time, dad had me hop into the drivers seat of his car and started giving me directions. We got to a small town about 15 miles away, where he instructed me to pull into the parking lot of a used car dealership. Sitting there on the lot was a pristine 1993 Chevrolet C1500 Cheyenne with 94k miles with an asking price of $3400. Dad asked if I’d like that for my first vehicle. I was ecstatic. A few days later, it was sitting in our driveway.

He said it’s yours now, you can do whatever you want with it. Keep it stock and drive it, or customize it. Of course being 14 years old I wanted big mud tires, a CB radio, chicken lights and loud exhaust (15 years later, that hasn’t really changed.)

I got a job and started working as much as I could to buy more parts. It started with a used toolbox, hand me down cobra 25 with a single 4’ whip, bow tie mudflaps, and a smith and Wesson hitch cover. I thought I was the coolest kid on the block.

Dad was old school and preferred the chrome look. He encouraged me to “class it up” a bit. I found an oem chrome take off rear bumper on Craigslist. I found a nice set of stainless mirrors at the junk yard. I picked up some stainless step bars and door handle covers as well.

Then came the grille. There aren’t any good options for the w/t grille in my opinion. So after hours of research I made a trip to the local junkyard and picked up the nicest composite headlights and chrome grille they had, high tailed it home and made the swap. Oh, and I also put a visor that I found on Craigslist on it as well.

I didn’t care for the stance, and dad was pushing for chrome wheels. I ended up putting the rough country 4” spindle lift on, and dad bought a set of 17” Incubus Krawlers wrapped in 275/65/17 Toyo all terrains.

I guess I can only post 5 pictures at a time, I’ll post more below.
Eh, I liked it better stock :33:
Haha, jk! I think these trucks should've come from the factory with visors and cab lights.
Nice story, wish I still had my first truck...and my second.
