Ok. I have a PCM tune ? I have the stock 97 pcm and a 98 pcm. Which would be better to use until I can find a 411 and get it wired in.

As I recall there was a difference in the wiring in the 98 and later that wasn't compatible with the earlier versions. If I recall correctly the 96-97 used a 5 connector pcm and the 98-00 used a 4 connector.

Correct. Both of my '97s have a total of five connectors.

I believe HPT supports the 96-97 PCM. EFILive does not, so any tuner using that software will be unable to tune it.

Unfortunately HPT doesn't support the 96-97 either. Aside from swapping computers(could probably swap to the 98 fairly easily if you can find a pinout sheet for a 97 and 98) you pretty much have to go through someone like blackbear.
