Hey everyone I've picked up a 2001 Savana with the L31 5.7 and I'm in the midst of getting it running top shape.

It has a miss and a code for the injector and a fouled drivers side cat.

I have picked up the Delco upgraded spider assy
new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, thermostat, fuel filter, fresh coolant and a drop in replacement K&N

Anything I'm missing tune up wise ?

I'm debating replacing the factory catted Y pipe with a stainless offroad Y pipe and a tune to delete the 02s

Looking for opinions here, Has anybody fitted an offroad Y pipe to a savana/express ? experiences or clearance issues ?

I have a Black Bear tune on my Truck and they were great to deal with so I will probably go with them for the 02 sensor delete but open to suggestion.

I plan to take my bike to the racetrack with her and do some camping so I don't want it Loud just reliable for the time being.

Cheers

Probably a mistake. Not a fan of oiled-gauze filters when used on an engine with a MAF sensor.

X2. I have fouled MAF sensors in my red '97 C1500 using both a drop-in K&N filter and one of their FIPK full intake systems. Neither filter was oiled excessively, one of them was fresh out of the box. I removed everything K&N in favor of the factory intake with an OEM high capacity paper filter.

On the other hand, K&N is the only thing I have used for air filter replacements for years. Numerous MAF vehicles and not a single issue. A couple of my MAF vehicles have had factory dual air boxes, dual filters and dual MAF sensors as well which should mean twice the potential for problems there. My 2007 G35 Sedan has had K&Ns in it for over 120K miles. I replaced the stock filters shortly after getting the car when one disintegrated into the RH MAF, putting the car into limp mode at 75 mph.

Still? I thought you gave up on them after they wouldn't sell you replacement parts for an intake kit.

Just looking at Y pipe options came across this

I think I remember guys using lt1 B-body Headers and ORY pipe with no clearance issues but I can't find the discussion online anymore.

The search continues...

I have the Thorley TH343Ys on my 97.

I also have a L31 with a mild cam and these on it with dual 2.5" exhaust with a dual in/dual out muffler. It runs great. Way better flowing than the stock manifolds.

For a stock 350, dual 2.5" to 3" high flow thunderbolt cats and dual 3" to the muffler works well. My 97 has a dual 3" in/single 4" 8.1 muffler and 4" out tailpipe.

GMT800 2500/3500HD 8.1 muffler and tail pipe replacement works well even with my rear sway bar.

I got that straightened out. That being said that does not change the fact I like their drop-in filters. I have since also put a K&N filter in my household hvac unit. It really helped my allergies and reduced the amount of dust and pollen in my house noticeably.
