Keyless entry problems

96 Tahoe Trying to fix/use the key fob. Bought a new fob tried programming it .. nothing. Locks cycle but unable to program. I have a 98 shop manual... says to check keyless remote door lock entry.. took pics which is it?

Tried lowering that brace... I have to take off the modulator for the vents... I’ll wait. Have to make keys for the doors anyway

Pretty sure 96 and 98 are different.

I want to say that they used the rectangular fobs (upper left) for 95 and maybe 96 versus the rounder ones (lower right) in 97 and 98.

That doesn’t help to answer your question (and for all I know they may be interchangeable) but it may be something to look into. Maybe someone with a 96 can confirm.

Which RPO is the keyless entry?

They are different. I went to a locksmith to make a key for the doors and he checked on the fob for me.. the fob I got when I bought it is not from this truck. Didn’t work not even the correct code should be ABO0104t
Ordered a new fob and we’ll see what happens
