This is still an issue. I did the swap from thermal to electric 6 years ago. First unit installed was a Dorman and 9 months later it let me down in the mountains off highway in a bind. Replaced with a Spicer. 11 months later I was stuck in the forest in the rain…again 5 months later with some other brand not worth mentioning. What is worth mentioning is all the units were identical. Like the same place in Taiwan is producing all of them just in different colors. Whatever junk is in it now went out yesterday. There is an option for a solid alloy plug that screws in place of the actuator that engages the diff into full time. You should all buy one and keep it Justin Case. I’m looking for a mechanical option now on this site while typing this up. Y’all have a nice day.
