Sounds like you got this pretty well figured out but I just had to say, I have 97 doors with a 94 dash and they fit fine, the only problem is the door switches on the end of the dash, they don't contact the door with the newer panels. I screwed on some electrical wire nuts onto the switch stems to make them contact the door. It's a little hacky, but it's been working for three years now :rofl:
