Looking for a good used OEM rubber/vinyl floor for shortcab. Prefer gray, but black or blue could work. Have seen the reviews for the LMC floor where they don't fit too well.

I've heard the same about the LMC product.

Downsides of going for a factory one is you'll only find them used, and over the years they harden up, shrink, get permanent wrinkles in them, etc. they can also wear through in places and sometimes even crack. As they shrink they pull back from the edges and expose floor metal. So while I have found a few in reasonably decent shape, don't expect perfection.

Good luck! Check all the boneyards around you and be ready to pull seats and door sill trim so you can get it removed. Of course that means in NJ you'll be dealing with fasteners that go through the floor and are exposed on the bottom to road salt.

Here's an example of hardened-up, permanent wrinkles, shrinking.. the door sill trim is removed in this pic obviously, but the flooring up front had already shrunk enough it had pulled loose from the trim, as you can see:

Here's another that I salvaged from a '99 C3500 as my customer wanted a vinyl floor for his truck, it was in reasonably good shape - note minimal wrinkling, but that it had already begun pulling loose at the edges from the door sill trim. This was in 2008 so the vinyl was only 9 years old at that point.

Very good point to bring up. Maybe I'm too stuck in the past as I have a GM floor I bought in 1999 for my first GMT400 I built. It's still in good condition( but it's red/garnet) and will be used in my other,"work truck" GMT400. This build is going to be my "daily"/puttin around town truck so as to save my direct injection Audi from getting carboned up with my very short commute.
