Guys quick question for you. I have a 97 Tahoe. Im would like to monitor my transmission temperature without installing a gauge. Is their something that can do this through the OBD2 port?

A scangauge may be able to, not sure though. A gauge is the best way to do it though.

There ought to be on a 96+ truck as they have temp sensors in the harness.

Supposedly there is a way using the Torque app for Android with extended GM PIDs. I haven't made it work personally, but haven't really tried either.

I have obd2 scanner wit the Dash command app and it will tell me the trans temperature. I have a 1999 Suburban but should be the same.

Works for my 97 C1500 as well. Bonus: Dashcommand does Cam Retard Cmp offset. That alone is worth the cost of the adapter and app.

I was able to get transmission temps from my 95's ECU ... I'm sure you can get them on a more modern setup.
