Also, what's up with the closed water jackets on those fel-pro gaskets I used in that 2nd picture? All of the other "high performance" gaskets i've looked at were open.

Those gaskets are made that way to slow the flow of coolant down so that it will pick enough heat from the engine assembly. If you do not use the restricted gaskets the engine WILL over heat.

I was just curious as to why most of them were wide open, but mine was restricted with a pinhole. I always go back with OEM (or as close as possible) parts.
