I finally found me another GMT400!

The passenger side door panel was already out of the truck, so I went ahead pulled the driver’s since it needs the power lock switch. They are surprisingly nice for their age. The gray bezel is cracked where the PO broke it getting it off, so I have all those parts on order.

I rinsed down the dusty engine, and it cleaned up pretty nice. No major leaks I can see. It has a little weeping around the valve cover grommets, but the oil pan is dry, and it’s dry around the rear main seal area, so I was happy to see that.

I have thought about this often, then I would have to add a two door Tahoe into the mix. My driveway is getting full and my pockets are getting empty

I was actually looking for an single cab 4X4 when I found this one. I was also looking for a K1500. I watched Craigslist and Marketplace for months and kept seeing a lot trucks that were clapped out, too far away, or priced way higher than my budget. The few potential trucks I was truly interested in were got snapped up before I could even go look at them.
I prefer the earlier trucks, but I looked at all year models. When I ran across the thumbnail pics of this one I thought it was a K1500 because of the 6 lug rims.

This truck was just so original and overall checked too many boxes for me to resist.

Still just cleaning up the old girl. There’s some spots that I don’t seem to be able to get out of the carpet, but man - for 32 year old carpet - I still can’t believe it’s survived so well.

There’s a few small cracks in the dash, but no big breaks or separations. I’ll probably just roll with that for now. I
I’ve also got to find a passenger side speaker grill.

I replaced the 4X4 decals today. The old ones were peeling, so I ordered new ones. It looks much cleaner!
