I bought an abandoned 93 GMC 2500. Let's get it back on the road?

I'd do that too for your motor. I had a known okayish / good motor with 3k miles after The Bad Times so it was the perfect candidate for the snake oil espécial.

Yea, I pretty much only buy and drive abused and neglected cars to tinker on this with, and personally I think Lucas grabs onto crud a little faster than just oil anyway. Otherwise, it's running great and I'm actually really enjoying driving it.

It did technically break down today, though...

I went to the machine shop, got the head, no problem. On my way to the auto parts store for some supplies for the dually, something apparently unscrewed itself... I got in to leave the parts store... key on, hit the starter, ***click*** and everything went dead. Oh great, I was just screwing around with a bunch of electrical crap and now it's got an electrical problem??? First thought, anyway. Second thought, typically the more rational one, the battery.

Apparently my improvised battery stud decided to go wifi. Since I was at the parts store already, I just borrowed a pair of pliers and carefully, but without asking politely, put it back in its place.

I don't know. Maybe that doesn't count if I didn't have to break out my own tools to fix it.

"break down" again?

Not really... Somehow a spark hose went wifi. I messed with them not too long ago. Pretty easy to tell since I could hear it.

Was on my way to buy some overpriced chinese junk chicken house.

I've been meaning to build one for too long to breed a few specific birds, but just never did. I'm doing some designer genes or something trying to cook up a better bird for lazy people.

Those are both a combination of welsummer, black astroturff, and some kind of game chicken. The black astros are really careful. The welsummer roosters have all been great at rooster'ing and really smart about it. The game chickens can fly about 30 feet straight up or cover at least a hundred yards. Somehow they actually just know how to fly like any other bird, but they just can't do it as far.

Smart, careful birds that can fly and look like crows. Hawks won't even look at them, they fly away from foxes, and they want to roost higher than anything but a squirrel would be brave enough to climb. Leave out a bowl of water and maybe they'll just exist on their own... It'll be cool if it works, but probably won't.

Well that explains it, I was low on headlight fluid.

Frog tape and sillycone. That'll fix it sort-of-ish.

Ah man, stick with it. She was treated pretty poorly. It’ll take that special sort of attention I’d imagine.

I actually love this truck. It sounds like a joke, but it's great because it's so bad.

Like... I look down at the gauges once in a while. Pretty much, oil pressure?? aight. There's no useless electronical junk to distract me from... I like getting in and driving a machine, not a computer, basically.

And, I wouldn't go out in the rain to try out my new headlights if I really didn't like it.

Cameras really don't do justice to headlights. They're good. Not gonna blind anyone and I'll definitely see where I'm going.

2 bolts seems like plenty to hold on this chinese trailer hitch... right?

Alright... if I ever decide to go pull a car home or something, I'll put a couple more bolts in it. I used those nylon never-come-off nuts and put them on with the impact till it ran out of air. Fine for little stuff.

Anyway, somehow only the ground was toast on the existing wiring, but the end was eaten clean off. The plate light I've had for years for a different project, but it's finally got a home. Snapped right into place there.

Interesting. I put Restore and Protect in my car, did excessive blowby in the pcv type activities, and then there were little oil boogers in the fresh air cavity of my throttle body. I wonder if it cleans surfaces by boogering it up and eventually sticking into the filter.

id really suggest a frame mounted receiver for a car trailer
A car dolly with a heavy vehicle down to these trailers, are fine
The reason is you would want the receiver to be applying force to the frame
Here its just to the bumper, so now your bumper to your frame is now bearing the lever that is your hitch ball wanting to roll the bumper down or pull it out , which if a car was there that is a LOT
also your chains have too much slack, almost jack knife your trailer backing up and then set the one chain to just clear your hitch ball nut under it, then match the other chain in lengths taken up

you can do this with another hook or some other tricks
