Hey y'all! I realized that I've been on the forum for several years now, but haven't actually introduced myself. I'm in the military, so I move around a lot, which makes it a bit tricky working on my rig. I'm from Arkansas though, so I call that home. I've been around GMT400 trucks for a long time, riding around in my grandpa's 88 as a kid, and eventually ending up with a couple of my own. Currently working on my 98 that I bought in when I was in high school, and it's been a blast, and probably the best purchase I ever made.

I'm happy to be here, and appreciate all the info and help you guys have given me so far!

My truck is a 1998 Chevy C1500. I bought it when I was 16. I paid $1,750 for it, and it has more than paid for itself. I used to work at a local mechanic shop, and the truck was there getting a distributor replaced. I remember seeing it and instantly thinking it was a beauty. It was dusty and really needed a wash, and I went as far as getting some wet rags and just wiping it down. One afternoon I was helping my boss work on it, and my boss mentioned that the owner was looking to sell it. I asked to meet him, and the rest is history. I've driven it just about everywhere, from Arkansas, South Carolina, Colorado, Texas, and everywhere in between. And it's only ever left me stranded one time!

I'm just now in a situation where I have a little time and money to throw at it, so right now I have the interior completely gutted. It's getting a new dash, carpets, sound deadening, HVAC box refurbished, speakers, and everything else I can think to throw at it while I have it all tore down.

It has 252,000 miles on it, and the bank would say it isn't worth the rubber it sits on. I beg to differ.
