Man, my grandparents had a dark blue metallic caprice. no idea what year or what was under the hood. I assume a 350. I NEVER clued into how awesome those cars were really but they were comfortable! all of those kinds of cars, if they survived the rust belt, were finished off in demolition Derbys.

they are so incredibly hard to find up here!

Alright thanks everyone. Guess I'll find out for sure when I tear into buddy's core. Offered to build him a stroker or cammed 355 and just throw a carb on it and be done but he wants a daily driver. Carbed daily drivers plus Canadian winters equals no bueno on cold starts.

Thanks Erik for photos. Were there any Fitment issues with the Vortec H20 pump and other engine pulleys? Did everything line up with making the belt fit strange.

Thanks for the pic. That also brings up another issue. The Vortec pump requires the Vortec fan. Apparently I have the Vortec pump, pulley, and fan on mine.

Let me get your thoughts on this.... my new intake has three ports... 2 on each side of the thermostat housing and one on the front like a stock vortec. All the ports are connected and and lead to an outlet on the head. Im see if I can get away with my TBI pump... my current intake is the same way... maybe thats why im not over heating now.

I'm trying to think the cooling system through, but I'm 1200 miles away from my truck for work. My truck ran just fine with the TBI pump for about a week, and then it spiked for no obvious reason.
