Hi Y'all ex-1997 GMC Sierra 1500 Club cab owner, now into vans.

Have to remove a right side valve cover to investigate a rocker arm noise. 85,000 miles. 7.4. The throttle body to coolant hose with the push in quick disconnet. it's in the way. Much searching, coming up empty.

I saw it mentioned on here by some knowlegable folks who said the following about this steel line into the disconnet, that is a disaster waiting to happen, then it goes right smack dab over the entire legnth of the valve cover, mockiing me the entire way,
It then shares a brace mounting stud with the dipstick tube, which also comes out. And then, it hydraullic line type crimps into a rubber line that runs down the front of the motor, turns up 180 in a U shape and terminates at the hose clamps to the coolant source. Its like 3 feet long. 2/3rd's metal. Don't want to disturb that quick connection without having that line. Ideally. However.

So far, unable to find it. Any suggestions Gentlemen of GM?
Thanks so much, Dominate!
Bill

Also I got a whiff of anti-freeze when driving, I suspect that it will need a heater core before long, although hoping I can stave that off till I pull the dash in the spring to rebuild the whole AC system with R134 stuff so I can charge it easy, also while the dash is out going to install an alarm system with remote start.
Hopefully it's not the quick connect on the intake. I'd put eyeballs on that before dismissing it. If it's corroded and beginning to leak, you know you'll want to replace it asap before it lets go. Hell if it's just the heater core I'd jump on that too before you get an antifreeze mess in your carpet.
