I'm Blake. Always had an affinity for OBS Chevys since I was a child. I figured I'd buy one whenever a decent one popped up locally and I got that chance a couple of years ago. It was a Texas truck so there's no major rust. I've already rebuilt the entire front end, steering box, steering pump, etc. Last piece will be the rag joint and everything will be complete. Once I get into the new shop, she'll be torn down for a frame restoration and as more parts are reproduced, she'll get those too. It'll be long project but it might just be my favorite one to date.

I currently have a '98 LS400 that's my main project. An '85 C10 (350, aluminum heads, the usual) that's a side project, a '62 impala (383ci sb but 100% original otherwise) that was a finished project but now it needs some love again, and a few other Toyota/Lexus suvs that need constant tlc. My projects move slow so the family can keep their rides moving.

I've browsed the forum for a couple of years but recently joined. It's nice to see a forum still intact and didn't migrate to Facebook.

Welcome to the most knowledgeable group of guys I've ever seen. They're immensely helpful.
That's what I'm here for, knowledge and from people I can relate with! I like to study wiring diagrams for fun (former VW electrical specialist) and I've already downloaded everything for our trucks! I love this place!
:welcome:Seems like a lot of people have Lexus’s? Lexusi? Lexuses? on the forum here. What isn’t an assumption is that this is the best gmt400 forum :Big Laugh: .
Thanks! I guess it has something to do with that 400 nomenclature. GMT400, LS400.. Maybe that's just the best number? I'm a sucker for reliability now that I have kids.. Can't beat an old Chevy or Toyota in my opinion (that's why all of our daily drivers are 20+ years old). I'm glad to have come across this place. It's already been helpful for my future restoration/rebuild.

Welcome. I fixed and or worked on two (my dads) VW Bugs in the 70s, and I think they were from the 60s. No electrical problems, Just F-ing no heat in the winter here when the experts said the new ice age was coming. Good Times.

Guilty as charged…..but I don’t feel terrible about it, it’ll run laps around my old truck.

What year is your LS400? I blew my truck engine up and bought a 1996 (same year as my truck) LS400 with 86k on the cheap.

It's a '98, same as my truck. Both have been kind of obtainable dream cars since I was a kid. My car has 145k so far. It won't go up much - I might've put 3 miles on it in the last year. It'll fall in beside my '62 and be a garage queen.
