The cable IS replaceable, and a fairly easy two minute job. Finding one is a whole nother issue. I noticed that in the JY's I looked through there were plenty of cruise boxes with cables attached for 350 autos. That's a completely different unit from the one I need. I need one for a 454 5 speed. I even went looking for a new unit at a dealer. They told me there are none left in the system, and even if there were, I wouldn't like the price, so......
