I have been thinking about building a set of heim joint based steering links. Use HD greasable heims on either side, and put some bends in the tube to keep forces linear on the heims, with some gussets in the bends for strength so they don't flex. If I only had the fab skills and tools...

What's wrong with Moog? Tie-rods are a big deal on 800's, I've never heard of them being a big problem on 400's.

Maybe for large wheel/tire combo's who do trail riding? I am with you, I always see the meme's on gmt800's, not the 400's...

Sharp looking Tahoe! No answer to your tie rod question, but I would like to know where you got that hood, that is a beautiful hood!

Thanks, i got it from LMC it came with just plain black plastic inserts in the 4 openings of the scoop, so what i did was ordered some chrome diamond mesh sheet ,cut out plastic and installed the chrome mesh, I also pit the same chrome mesh in the Front bumper where the 2 cold air intake openings are..
If you want to check out my interior here is a short videow showing the other stuff i did... wait till you see the box under my back seat.... Pretty cool.... ✌️
Anything you want to know where i got it from or what it is feel free to ask....

Take a look at emf rod ends. They make any taper ball joint you want and the all come with the same size ball so its a beefy joint. Its about $80 a ball joint iirc

Proforged makes some real quality steering components. I ran their stuff on my 96 impala SS with great success, the owner of the company was really active on that forum.

I really like the solid tie-rod end sleeves they make.

Proforge don’t make them for the OBS Body’s they make theirs for 2001 & up

p.s. I also have a full steering rebuild kit for sale in the classified section :deal:
