I am contributing because I have a 2005 with the biggest brakes that came on the 2500hd ( idk what the 3500hd had)
The brakes were somewhat different below 9200 gvwr
The hoses, calipers i think, and other things will be different if your source from a lower rated truck
You must be registered for see images attach

The reason i asked, though heavily discussed, is that am new to the front suspension and I all I have seen or read is that you cannot do anything with the UCA but change bushings and the ball joint. If this isn't true, I wanted to know. Looks straightforward to me.

Heavily discussed already. The only part of my K3500 front end that is GMT400 is the upper control arms, and CV shafts. Diff, brakes, lowers, steering box, pitman arm, all GMT800
And the LCA works just fine then? Good to know. Thanks!

Correct. If you noticed in the video he didn't change uppers either. But you can get offset camber bushings for the GMT400 uppers along with Mevotech TTX ball joints.

You can do the knockouts and a camber bolt? That's how it is on my 2000 K3500, and my 96 K2500 has the chevron mark to knock out the steel around the bolt hole.
As far as the GMT800 forged LCA goes, it's been reported that it is a bolt in affair but the angle of the shock mount can present some binding issues. I'll do some digging because I had a bunch saved on the NBS knuckle swap using the NBS lower arms.

Why not just bolt the GMT400 shock mount onto the 800 arm?

My K1500 is a pavement princess for the most part other than the road we drive on our property daily or my gun range that has the occasional off-road conditions after bad weather. I can't imagine the binding shock would be a really issue unless one was seriously off-roading?
