Solid axles and you having one makes sense. Not sure about the less prone to rust part, but that may be true.
Wasn't being contrary, just curious about the advantages.
That's just what I've seen. I've had 4 gmt400s and never seen one with a good frame. On the opposite end between me and my buddy we have 4 like new mid 70s frames and only one cab that holds water that we bought from California
