Gm n4500 or dodge nv4500 for 12 valve swap

I am doing a 12 valve swap and getting rid of my tired sloppy shifting 4l80e and going manual would it be easier to go with a dodge nv4500 or a Gm nv4500?

If you use the Dodge trans, the starter goes on the drivers side, away from the turbo, downpipe, and front driveshaft.

Wish I'd used the Dodge one on my Ford.

To use a gm one easily you need a 96+ one. Then swap over the input an bearing retainer to dodge an then use dodge everything from there forward.

Quick draw has a bellhousing kit that has everything you need for that. Also a good time to do the 1 3/8 input an clutch upgrade if your planning big power or heavy towing or anything like that.

Only thing I can offer is buy the best throwout set up you can find. Changing them a year or so later is going to be a chore… My 99 K3500 is making “fitnya blow up” noises, the following were replaced in 2023: engine, transmission, t-case, clutch disc, pressure plate… Roughly 17,000 miles on all those currently.
